Feel the excitement and pride of making a beautifully polished ring from start to finish. Using sterling silver wire, students will cut, file, solder, hammer, sand and polish a ring. This is a perfect mini workshop for people who already make jewelry using beads & components, but haven’t worked with more advanced techniques in a fully equipped studio. “Wrap Your Rocks”
Have you ever wanted to take one of your own stones and turn it into a pendant? Have you ever seen those crazy wire wrapped pendants and wondered how they're made? I have been wire-wrapping stones for 8 years now, and my workshop will show you how to get started. We will review the different types of wire, where to purchase it, and I will demonstrate the basics of creating an elegant wire wrapped pendant. You will leave this workshop with the sufficient knowledge to get your wire wrapping journey started. I will present my own tips and tricks, including how to price them for sale. It’s fun - and you will also be leaving with two copper pendants of your own.
Skill Level: No experience necessary
Tuition: $70.
Lab Fee: $5
Materials: $10

Wrap Your Rings
Sat 4/12 2:00 - 5:00
(Armando Blanco)
Welcome to the wonderful world of ring making! In this workshop, we will be working with round beads and wire to make two different types of rings. The first ring will be very basic, with a single wire to get you started. Then we will move on to add wire wrapping, where we use multiple wires, creating coils to decorate the ring. For the most part, rings are easy and fun to make. This workshop includes all the fun and basic parts that come from working with wire and beads. And you will take home two rings of your own design!
